Having recently moved to Chicago, I was instantly awestruck by the architecture. Still learning something new about the city every day, I decided to paint the buildings and sculptures that caught my eye on my first ever visit: Sears Tower, Marina City, and “The Bean”. As a fan of all things vibrant and detailed, I added a bright, Art Nouveau-inspired central figure. She wears an earring inspired by the municipal device of Chicago and decorating her hair are the city flower - the chrysanthemum - and other native Chicago plants.
