My career is in design, but my hobbies are all about making things by hand, so I love finding the overlaps between the two. On a recent trip to Japan I learned mizuhiki, a craft that uses woven and knotted paper cords to create intricate designs - a perfect intersection between design and craft. This shirt design was inspired by that experience, using the colors of the Chicago flag to represent our design community and the creativity that ties us together.
